Darwen community favourite, the East Lancashire Hospice charity shop on Bridge Street, is the latest retailer to join Shop Darwen!
This bustling town centre charity shop has been providing Darwen with preloved treasures for fifteen years, and profits made going directly to an excellent local cause.
Supporting an invaluable local cause
All purchases and donations made in the Bridge Street shop support the wide ranging work that the East Lancashire Hospice do across Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. From their Inpatient Unit, community care services, to support and wellbeing services, this community funded charity is an invaluable resource to the East Lancashire area, and touches the lives of countless families.
What can you buy in-store?
And luckily it’s not hard to find something to buy at the Darwen shop! Shoppers can browse good quality secondhand womenswear and menswear (including branded items), childrenswear, home items, accessories, shoes, toys, craft items, books, CDs, DVDs and more. Stock is regularly updated and rotated, so you’ll always find something “new”, and for a great price.
Larger and in demand items are often shared on the East Lancashire Hospice Shops Facebook page, after which they get snapped up quickly! Make sure you’re following them to stay in the loop.
A welcoming sanctuary in the heart of Darwen
The friendly volunteers and staff members also help to make shopping at the Bridge Street shop a great experience. It’s evident that they enjoy their roles and the shop is usually full of chatter and laughter. Local families get to know the staff from dropping by regularly over the years; the shop is always a cheerful sanctuary where everyone can be sure of a warm welcome.
