Mon, Tues, Thurs & Sunday: Closed
Weds, Fri & Saturday: 10 am–3 pm
The centre is open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The main meeting room can be hired out privately outside of these times.

Darwen Heritage Centre brings the town’s history to life through photographs, maps, documents, paintings, models and objects collected from across the local community.

Permanent displays explore Darwen’s people and industrial heritage, while changing exhibitions uncover different parts of the town’s social, cultural and artistic story. Friendly volunteers are on hand to share their knowledge or help visitors discover something new.

The Centre holds an extensive collection of historic photographs, maps, reference books and archive material, making it a valuable starting point for local and family-history research.

Regular talks, art displays and temporary exhibitions give visitors fresh reasons to return, while school groups, community organisations and local residents are encouraged to explore and contribute to the collection. Darwen Heritage Centre is a registered charity managed and run by volunteers.
