Darwen Leisure Centre makes it easy to get active, whether you are training regularly, learning to swim or simply looking for something enjoyable to do with the family.
Facilities include a 25-metre, eight-lane swimming pool, a smaller teaching pool, a recently refurbished gym, fitness studio, sports hall and activity rooms. A varied programme of swimming sessions, lessons, exercise classes and family activities runs throughout the week.
Swimming has been part of life on this site for generations. Darwen’s former “New Baths” opened in 1933, and its distinctive original frontage was retained when the present leisure centre was developed.
The new £12.7 million complex opened in January 2010, combining modern swimming, sports and fitness facilities with a visible reminder of the building remembered by generations of Darreners.
